Operation Spring Shield which is the fourth Turkish military operation in northern Syria started because killing 33 of its soldiers by a Syrian airstrike on Feb 28 has taken a beneficial move for the Turkish defense industry as Turkey has been able to prove their defense industrial capabilities mainly drones.
Turkish homemade Bayraktar TB2 and ANK male drones are mostly used in Syria to neutralize Assad's Army and already destroyed a couple of tanks, SAM's and rocket systems.
This specific word " Neutralised " is used by Turkish officials in the case of Assad's force instead of using the word "killing or killed".It's a kind of tricky political word considering this phenomenon. This civil war politics in Syria had a weeping past started by the USA. But can anybody hear the name of the USA now in Syria?
Isn't it a great win-win for Putin to play like Ronaldo there? Or should I say that he's playing to role of rounded potato there?
How did Putin make it happen? Of course, it was Russia's prime aim to make Trump win the 2016 presidential election and work in Russia's favor. Recently specific conducts have been done and a phenomenon had been created to withdraw most of the US troops from Syria gives Russia the opportunity to be a monopoly superpower there. And Erdogan's recent visit to Moscow had much potential that Russia is still following no conflict strategy during current Operation Spring Shield as Kremlin said, "Cooperation with Turkey in Syria is a top priority." Erdogan's speech proves that he's still having a good relationship with Putin as he said called Russia to step in to abate the escalating conflict. Again Turkish UAVs have destroyed Russian made SAM systems. That makes sense that Erdogan might have had a secret agreement with Putin as Israel had in case of invading Syrian Airspace or Russian techs are not modern enough to counter nowadays technologies.
Two things actually happened. Turkey is exhausted with 3.7 million Syrian refugees & killing its 33 soldiers just sparkled the tension higher than ever and now Turkey wants a permanent solution over this multi-dimensional problem as Erdogan said that Turkey won't take care of Syrian refugees in next 9 years.
On March 20,2016 in Brussels, the EU and Turkey made a deal that saw Syrian refugees who arrived on the Greek Islands sent back to Turkey and in return Turkey receive £6 bn from EU AID. But after that pay, the EU hasn't paid Turkey anything and till now Turkey spent $40 bn over refugees. Again the EU provided no help to Syrian refugees in safe zones inside Syria after Operation Peace Spring. And now during Operation Spring Shield NATO and EU said they won't provide any help to Turkey.
This made Erdogan so angry that he opened the Turkish border to pressure Greece as well as the EU by migrants. This is a kind of the same strategy followed by Myanmar to pressure neighbors like Bangladesh by refugees. This will benefit Turkey by two sides. One is pressuring its historical enemy Greece and another one is the revenge of not sharing burden which is EU's one of the prime principles.
Whatever Operation Spring Shield will do in Syria it will do the advertisement of the Turkish defense industry for sure and companies like Roketsan will see a huge number of foreign orders.
