From Egypt to Bahrain : Where is Israel headed to?
Israel, the one and only Zionist country existing in the world, is continuously expanding its sphere of influence from Egypt to Bahrain :Where is Israel headed to?
From Egypt to Bahrain : Where is Israel headed to?
As one of the greatest allies of the United States, Israel has successfully abducted the independence of Palestine, won the Six Day War against Arab League and now at the present time continued establishing diplomatic and strategic relationships with Arab countries.
The historic Abraham Accord has been signed on September 15 at the same place of White House where the Oslo 1 Accord was signed [1] is the result after the announcement of establishing diplomatic ties between Israel and UAE came from US President Donald Trump on August 13 this year. Later on, Bahrain joined the UAE's club because according to analysts, Bahrain is most likely to follow nearly every footsteps of United Arab Emirates(UAE) as Manama has the deepest economic bondage with Abu Dhabi.
The reaction after the Abraham Accord is mixed although reactions in favour is larger in numbers than who are raising their voice against it. Though Iran and Turkey have dived into the going on war between Azerbaijan and Armenia against each other, these regional powers remained at same principle by opposing the accord. In the Kingdom of Suadi Arabia, an internal conflict has erupted between Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman(MBS) and King Salman bin Abdulaziz . The king is a longtime supporter of the Arab boycott of Israel who is against the Abraham Accord and MBS is totally opposite. Fact of interest that Saudi has opened air space for Israel. Yemeni Houti rebels and Palestine are strongly against the accord because they have found themselves in most vulnerable against Israel and its allies. Though Kuwaiti government stated nothing, most of the MPs condemned the agreement. Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Mauritania and India have welcomed the accord where Syria, Pakistan, Hezbollah of Lebanon and GNA of Libya highly opposed Abraham accord.[2]
After all these happening we can't help ourselves but to shed lights upon history to know the root of all accords between Israel and Arab countries.
The late Egyptian President Muhammad Anwar Sadat is the first Middle Eastern leader who broke the Arabian taboo by recognizing and establishing diplomatic ties with Israel in 1980 followed by the 1979's Egypt - Israel Peace Treaty. But there were someone right behind President Sadat who directed Sadat to the peace treaty which led to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Ashraf Marwan, the greatest spy of twentieth century had laid the foundation of Egypt - Israel relationship from the backstage. His diplomatic espionage often considered as 'double agent ', was focused on blowing the cold wind of so called peace over the West Bank and Sinai Peninsula. Most of veterans assume that Marwan was the most successful Mossad agent in the history but still some think in the other way. Whatever the controversies are, in a book named The Angel : The Egyptian Spy Who Saved Israel written by former Israeli army intelligence analyst Uri- Bar Joseph leaves little room for doubt about Marwan's loyalty to Israeli intelligence.[3] Former Mossad chief Maj. Gen. (ret). Zvi Zamir described him as the greatest spy ever their agency had.[4] But the former Egyptian President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak asserted, "Ashraf Marwan was not a spy for Israel, it was [Anwar] Sadat who cleared him of all suspicion and said that he was passing false information on to those who believed that they had recruited him" while being interviewed by a Kuwaiti journalist in 2019.[5]
Cairo born Marwan married Mona Abdel Nasser, the only daughter of former Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser and in 1969 joined at the President's Office of Egypt. After the death of Nasser, Marwan continued his work under Sadat and acquired the post of information secretary later on. His involvement into Yom Kippur War of 1973 when he passed high value information from Sadat's nest, triggered an emergency military mobilization in Israel as they were totally unaware about the sudden attack of Egypt and Syria. Though both countries were speaking upon their own interest, Marwan worked on behalf of Israeli interest in a clear eye. This billionaire spy was compared with an iceberg by the Egypt Today in 2017.[6]
Primary success was Camp David Accord and Egypt - Israel Peace Treaty which ended the long remained dispute over the Sinai Peninsula. Another peace treaty was signed between Jordan and Israel in 1994.
But now during the era of modern diplomacy, why the Abraham Accord is being called a peace treaty when none of the signing countries are at war between themselves? Isn't this just a new polarization and military bonding treaty to oppress Iran as well as Turkey in Middle East inside the fog of peace treaty?
Well, peace doesn't exist in the political vein of Middle East. Egypt was expelled from Arab League after signing peace treaty with Israel in 1979 and president Sadat was assassinated in 1981 for the same reason. Palestine is being bombed everyday and the brand new Abraham Accord has just doomed the dream of rebirthing free Palestine. Now this politically childish move of Arab countries whom have normalised ties with Israel and going to do so will face Iran head to head as well as Turkey more than before.
But what is the elephant in the room that Abraham Accord is signed now when disputes are sparking over the Mediterranean? This so called peace treaty is signed at the perfect time to give Trump a re-election boost. Meanwhile, Trump is nominated for Nobel Peace Prize for the 2nd time of his presidency.
Ongoing Qatar blockade led by Saudi and allies from 2017 may endanger Qatar's dream project, hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022. So Qatar has boosted its relation with USA and seems vulnerable in relationship with Israel by burning alliance with Iran and Turkey. Saudi Arabia is be in dilemma. If they normalise ties with Israel, they may lose acceptance as Muslim world leader from other Muslim countries.
Accumulated aftermath of the Abraham Accord can be described like this, that the outcomes of the peace treaty has long term effect for all involved parties and will continue to shape the geopolitical landscape of the region in a different way. But if we consider the statement of Bouthaina Shaaban, an advisor of Syrian president on a Syrian newspaper where he said that secret relations between the UAE and Israel existed for decades but now they revealed it publicly then nothing will change in Middle East.
During the pre-meeting of signing the accord US President Donald Trump indicated that there are other five or six countries are coming to normalize ties with Israel.[7] So, who's next? Where is Israel's next station? Is it Oman, Sudan, Saudi Arabia or even Qatar? Nothing is impossible in the epoch of modern geopolitics.
